After creating a free account you can view the profiles of anyone who has chosen to be searchable by the community at large. With that in mind, if you'd like to be found by someone you should make sure to Opt In.

Make sure to fill out all sections of your profile completely or you may not show up in the list. You can upload a profile picture in the Account section.

Any messages sent to your account will be forwarded to the e-mail you registered with. Only the information given in your profile will be available to other members.
